Hundreds of Residents of the greater Abu Dhabi Residential community join in a day of family fun to celebrate world-class patient care

Abu Dhabi, UAE: United Eastern Medical (UEMedical), Abu Dhabi’s leading Healthcare Investment and Development Company, held their first HealthPlus Family Day to celebrate the recent opening of their new Family Health Center in Al Raha Beach on Saturday, 28 January 2012.

The family health center, located in Al Bandar, an island development set around a world class marina, saw hundreds of residents and their families pour in to attend a day filled with frivolity and excited anticipation. Free health checkups, games and activities, bouncy castles and magician shows were amongst the merriment of activities available for children and families alike. At the same time, Health Plus physicians and medical team mingled with the guests offering their expert advice on key matters concerning general and dental patient care.

The event inauguration was attended by Mr. Talal Al Dhiyebi, Director of Planning & Infrastructure, Aldar Properties; Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, Managing Director & CEO of UEMedical; Mr. Majd Abu Zant, CEO of Health Plus; and members of UEMedical top management. Following the inauguration, members from Al Dar Properties toured the Health Center and looked at the different medical services that are provided to their residents. It is worth mentioning that Al Bandar Residential Community is one of Al Raha Beach projects by Al Dar Development.

Since our soft opening in November 2011, we have already seen 600 patients, which clearly indicates that there is a strong public demand for our services within this district.”

Medical services offered in the center include Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Dentistry in addition to supporting Weqaya, the national screening program of the Health Authority – Abu Dhabi.

The Family Health Center, part of the Health Plus network, is strongly affiliated with UEMedical’s flagship project in Abu Dhabi, Danat Al Emarat Women and Children’s Hospital, which is due for completion by end of 2012 and is affiliated with other Health Plus Centers including the Fertility & Genetics Center and the Women’s Health Center.

Primary medical and dental care focusing on physician-patient relationships and the continuity of care

The new center is a welcomed addition to the UEMedical’s existing portfolio of premium outpatient facilities.

The center is located in Al Bandar, an island development set around a world class marina where the integrated residential community offers its residents a range of retail and leisure facilities within Al Raha Beach in the greater Abu Dhabi area.

Complimentary Breast Exams offered throughout the month of October

Abu Dhabi, UAE HealthPlus Women’s Health Center, the recently JCI accredited leading healthcare facility, conducted yesterday a Breast Cancer Awareness Open Day for the 2nd consecutive year. The initiative came in line with the month of October International Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

"It is estimated that one in eight women either has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, which is a hugely significant number. Early detection of breast cancer is vital to avoid potentially fatal prognoses.” said Mr. Majd Abu Zant, Chief Executive Officer of HealthPlus.

HealthPlus Women’s Health Center partnered with Tawam Hospital in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine and their Mobile Mammogram unit offering free mammograms. Family Development Foundation distributed self examination kits encouraging early screening and Estée Lauder Companies Inc, whose increasing awareness of breast cancer is one of its most prominent global campaigns, was also on-board.

The open day event was enthusiastically attended by large numbers of guests who enjoyed the interactive workshops led by Dr. Afaf El Ghanimi, HealthPlus Women’s Health Center Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecology assisted by the Tawam Hospital educators.
